How It Works

  1. Snap or upload a clear, well-lit photo of the watch dial.
  2. AI deep-scans the dial, case shape, bezel, hands, and logo to match your watch.
  3. Get the result — brand, model & reference number, plus market prices, articles, and the option to visualize your watch. New here? Read the watch identification tool guide for a full walkthrough.

Common questions

What is my watch worth?
FindWatch identifies your watch from a photo — brand, model and reference number — and shows current market prices alongside the result. If you already know the reference, searching it directly returns live listings with today's asking prices, which is the best measure of what your watch is worth right now. FindWatch shows market prices, not a formal appraisal; a certified appraiser is the right call for insurance paperwork.
What watch is this?
Upload or snap a clear photo of the dial and FindWatch identifies the brand, model and reference number in seconds, with current market prices. If you'd rather check by hand: the brand name, model line, hand style, bezel and subdial layout together point to one model, and often to one exact reference.
How do I identify a watch from a picture?
Shoot the dial straight on, about six to eight inches away, and fill the frame with the watch. Turn the flash off and stand with a window to your side so the crystal does not mirror the light. If you can also photograph the caseback and the side of the case, a vintage piece becomes far easier to place.
Where do I find my watch's reference number?
Look in three places: engraved on the caseback, stamped between the lugs under the strap or bracelet, and printed on the warranty card or original paperwork. Most watches made before about 1990 carry no reference on the dial at all, so the case and papers are the only sources.
Is it free?
Yes. You get one photo lookup every day without an account. Signing up adds more lookups, saved results, article search and market price search.
Does FindWatch store the photos I upload?
No. FindWatch does not store your uploaded watch photos. Photos are processed in memory and sent to Google's vision APIs under their API terms to identify the watch. We keep only a one-way cryptographic fingerprint (hash) to provide 24-hour result caching and audit history. Generated visualizer images are deleted within 8 days.
